Summer habits for the SOUL! Heat and mugginess brings the same vibes inside of our body! It is so important to stay hydrated this time of the year! My favorite drink is iced green tea and you can toss in a few berries or orange slices. Jam it up a bit! I take four organic green tea bags and seep them in hot water for about three minutes. Then I taketh tea bags out and put a little honey or agave nectar to naturally sweeten only slightly so that it melts in the hot water, And then I add the cold purified water and stir. I drink a ;pitcher of this a day over ice and in the summer I toss in a few lemon slices or any of my favorite summer fruits. Its not only enticing to the mouth but also to the eye! And.....super HEALTHY!!!!
Also take good care of your skin! Remember that in the summer HEADACHES are almost always a sign of dehydration so STAY HYDRATED this season!!!!
Eucalyptus, Sandalwood, Spearmint, Orange, Lime, Rose are some great cooling essential oils to use this time of the year! My favorite blend is orange and eucalyptus right now. I feel that the eucalyptus and the orange together just give such clean and summer vibes! At night I love rose and lime together after my bath. LUSCIOUS! Dont forget those sweet times of self care during summer! This is not only the time to feel sexy and healthy but everyone just looks a little sexier in the summer! Remember this is because the SUN rules the summer and of course isn't the sun oh so dazzling! Dazzle on Father Sun! We are so grateful to see you!!! And what a way to give thanks to the Sun is to remember to enjoy your Summer Solstice Practice in the spirit of 108 Sun Salutations! If we are able to social distantly have this event, I will be announcing this, but if not, I of course will have an online ceremony of some sort!
Lets please remember to get a little meditation in during the summer. I know that this time is a lot more active but try to give yourself that time to get some deep breathing and centering in in the mornings. It will add even more joy to this dazzling time of the year!
Watermelon, tomatoes, cucumbers, zucchini, oranges, yogurt, spinach and basil, blackberries, apples are all great options to enjoy during this time! Its one of my favorite sites to keep me in check to what we need here in our lovely hilly appalachian region! Also check out Fuhrmann's Orchard! They have an array of products and I just love this local gem! Seasonal food all summer and utterly delightful family members that make you feel at home when you visit!
Also PLEASE take good care of your skin! It encompasses all of our preciousness! It is the outer shells of our temple and without it we could not exist. It is also the first thing that people notice! We want to keep it vibrant and beautiful! Wear your sunscreen! Warming up castor oil and blending it with your other favorite hydrating oil can be a luxe bedtime balm after a day in the sun! Castor oil is thick, so it’s frequently mixed with other skin-friendly oils like almond, olive and coconut lto make an ultra-hydrating moisturizer. Or why not put it on your skin during your Sunday rest day and tidy or meditate or pray while giving your skin some love all day before your evening bath!

I tend to stay in the real of education and Nutrition and Spirituality/Buddhism these days so in the summer I try to read a little more fantasy or fiction and take a mental learning break so to speak.
