Keep it Flowing

Seasonal Detox, the Ayurvedic Way

Spring’s warmth is climbing, sweat flows easier, and the body is ready to clear winter residue. Here’s a simple, all-day routine you can share (or adopt yourself) to make the most of the season.

---

Morning heat & hydration

– Begin with 5–10 slow half-sun salutes, then step into a hot-infrared yoga class or a brisk outdoor run. The goal is a light, steady sweat—not burnout.

– Follow with a tall glass of room-temperature water dosed with a squeeze of lemon, a pinch of pink salt, and two mint leaves. This replaces the electrolytes you just released.

 Mid-day tea break

– Choose a liver-friendly blend: equal parts dandelion root, ginger, and fennel seeds simmered for five minutes. Sip warm.

– Keep a refillable bottle of plain water beside you; target at least half your body-weight (lbs) in ounces of fluid today.

 Evening sinus care

1. Neti pot rinse – warm saline through each nostril clears pollen, dust, and excess Kapha mucus.

2. Nasya oil – apply 2–3 drops per nostril, sniff gently.

Why it helps:

• Sesame oil coats delicate nasal membranes so pollen and pollutants don’t stick.

• Rose geranium calms inflamed tissue.

• Wild oregano offers natural anti-microbial action.

• My new “super” blend adds a final kiss of eucalyptus for that open-air finish.

I keep one bottle of this oil in my purse, another in my yoga bag, a third in the studio lobby, and a fourth in my body-work room—clients love a post-massage drop to stay clear on the ride home.

 Bedtime digest & reset

– Light dinner: basmati rice bowl with steamed greens, drizzle of ghee, and toasted cumin-coriander.

– Legs-up-the-wall for three minutes; slow breathing to cool the fire you stoked earlier.

– Early lights-out—detox happens while you sleep.

Repeat this pattern for three days and watch the skin brighten, sinuses stay open, and energy lift.

With clear breath and steady sweat,

Tina
