Spring Equinox 2026

There is something luscious tonight about the first evening of spring.

The air feels softer somehow, as if the earth itself has taken a deep breath after a long winter and finally relaxed.

From the corner coffee house, *The Landing*, live music floats down the street—soft guitar notes drifting through the evening like little threads of warmth. I can hear it from here as I lie quietly in my loft, a heating pad warming my back, sipping green iced tea.

My cats are sitting in the window of the sunroom, watching the last light fade out of the sky. They seem to know something has shifted. The light is different now.

My body feels amazing tonight—open and calm after the day’s yoga and breath and movement. Earlier today we welcomed the **Spring Equinox** with a yoga flow accompanied by live music from a yogi from my teacher training school who is also a musician. The room moved like water, breath and melody weaving together. It felt sacred in the most natural way.

Last night’s **restorative class** lingers in my heart too. The loft filled with people who come here simply to rest—soft blankets, quiet asanas, the hum of breath settling into stillness. Watching people allow themselves to soften like that… it feels like witnessing love in its purest form. I feel so lucky to hold that space.

Today offered so many small reminders that goodness is everywhere if we notice it.

My delivery driver this morning was a young man with a boyish face, towering over me now. He carried my packages all the way into the loft and asked if I remembered him. It took me a moment, but suddenly I did. The first and last time I had seen him was fourteen years ago when he was just a little guy. Now here he stood—tall, kind, gallant in a way that felt old-fashioned and sincere. What a wonderful young man he has grown into. Moments like that give me hope for the world.

Later at the car wash, two gentlemen were cleaning a car next to mine. One of them asked if he could spray a rim cleaner on my wheels to help out. I thanked him and asked if I could clean his rear windows with my window spray in return. Small exchanges of kindness between strangers—simple, easy generosity.

And tonight, somewhere nearby, a rescued mama cat is likely giving birth. A group called **Cleo’s Legacy** stepped in to help a beloved woman in their neighborhood who needed support. These women created a safe space for that little mother to bring her kittens into the world.

New life on the first day of spring.

How perfect is that?

Days like this remind me of something important:

Do not buy into the dreadfulness of the world.

Yes, there is hardship and noise and worry—but if you really open your eyes, you will see something else too.

You will see kindness at the car wash.

You will see a young man growing into goodness.

You will see people gathering to rest and breathe together.

You will see women rescuing a cat so she can safely bring life into the world.

And you will realize something quietly powerful.

The world is a beautiful place.

And people, at their best, are inherently good.

Tonight, with music drifting through the street, cats watching the last glow of the day, and the gentle warmth of the heating pad beneath me—

this may have been the most precious **Spring Equinox** I have ever had.
